I see one who gained freedom, one who wishes to maintain the tradition, one who despise the system and one who attempts to take advantage of the situation.

Can't blame Al-kun though, I can understand the rage he felt after his sister abandoned the throne which caused him to be the one who get chained now. Normally, his character would be criticized for doing nothing but just complaining, but he does take action and he wants to break the tradition by marrying the baron's daughter he's interested with unlike other anime royalties.

Can't dislike Euphyllia too, what she did was to maintain the tradition, upholding her duty. But, yeah Al-kun was being over harsh against her. His rage over accumulated to the point his mind is clouded and lost his rationality, thinking only to break free from the bullshit tradition.

Can't blame MC too, everyone know how freedom is restrainted as a royalty and not everyone wanted to be born a royal member.

He didn't need to uh, paint her to be one of those cliche villainess types. But yeah, it's an arranged marriage. I can't rly fault him for finding love elsewhere. Or resenting his situation. Though villainizing Euphillia is probably to not lose his reputation and position, and also some resentment towards her.

Idk, this is a certainly a trope, and I can always empathize with just wanting to get out of an arranged marriage. Which hey, some moral ambiguity, so that's good. Though most anime seem to frame the prince as being the one in the wrong, and yeah if they lie about shit then sure, Al is at least a jackass for false accusations here. But him breaking off the engagement by itself is completely fair and respectable.

Yes, for his ambition of changing the nation for the better.
Can't expect him to be perfectly good, because look at our history, even QinShiHuang did the cruel stuff to achieve peace. Sacrifice is always there. I'm glad he was stopped, because that ambition where he has to isolate his personal feeling will one day consume him entirely, it is actually a sad ending for him if it happens.

Euphy became the collateral in Al's breaking the tradition. It's just sad because she isn't even bad (remembered that hated princess in shield hero lol). Idk Lainie seems in it because when I look at that flashback where Euphy bowed at her, she seemed haughty. Idk, just my gut feeling that Cyan are conspiring to control Al by giving him what he wants. Also as I've said in my other comment, it is a wrong move to accuse Euphy like that. She's extremely embarrassed in front of the nobility and the school. It'll cause a civil war especially her father's a Duke and if he has many allies. Unless, that's what the Cyans want to happen. So I could guess at this point they want Al as puppet king.
